Milky Way over the Tetons

I recall driving towards these mountains with my mother and her thinking aloud “what strange clouds”. I smiled to myself as she dozed off and pressed on the gas. As we approached, I tapped her awake and told her “Ma, look its those funny clouds again”. From far away, these mountains look like a mirage, and then - magic - they materialize out of the earth to saw the sky in half, leaving me breathless everytime.
